Project Narrative and Challenge
Each townhome is to have an attached private garage and private driveways 20' or greater in length. Limited additional on-street parking is provided. The first challenge was reference to a different code section for this project. Towards finalizing designs our Project Architect was in constant communication with the client, but we had to refer to a residential code, instead of the standard building codes. This took a lot of user research and checking keeping the designs within the designated codes. There were plenty of challenges consisting of design changes within design development and approaching existing site conditions.

Design Roles and Collaboration
The collaboration between the design team and the client's engineers were efficient, therefore tackling challenges from the project took communication led by the Project Architect. I learned a lot from the lead architect and took steps in organizing and managing both coordination meetings and executing design updates with the team. I helped with the following deliverables:
Co-leading building information modelling BIM management efforts
User Research in International Residential Code (IRC) for compliance
Collaborated on exterior elevations to present with client for city approval
Developed details and coordinated with Project Architect on overall design collaboration
Develop Mock-Up Designs for Contractors to build with Project Architect

Next Steps
This project is now in construction and Developers are in phased construction. Mock-ups have been built with Project Architect, Allie Stobart's, approval.
